The Wildcats fishing program is only in its third year at Richmond Hill High School, but its success in recent years has been remarkable.
In a crowded field of 243 teams, Richmond Hill seniors Branton Champion and Jackson Behringer led the way for the Wildcats bass fishing team at the Student Angler Federation’s first GHSA Regional Qualifier, hosted at Lake Seminole in Bainbridge, Georgia.
The dynamic duo placed 10th out of 243 boats at Lake Seminole, securing a top 10 finish for the third time in their high school careers. They previously finished in 2nd last year, and made 5th place in 2022.
The finish secures their place in the GHSA state championship to be held at Clarks Hill Lake in Appling, Georgia on Saturday, May 4th. They join fellow teammates Owen Osden and Aiden Pluff, who finished in 17th place at the same tournament.
