Richmond Hill fell 20-0 to No. 4-ranked Valdosta on Friday night in a Region 1-7A football game at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
The loss dropped RHHS to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in 1-7A, but not before Richmond Hill played unbeaten Valdosta (8-0, 2-0) to a scoreless standstill in the first half.
VHS put together a pair of scoring drives in the third quarter and added a TD early in the final period to seal the win.
For Richmond Hill, Brandon McDonald had six tackles, three catches for 25 yards and 19 return yards to earn Plantation Lumber & Hardware Player of the Game honors.
Quarterback Ty Goldrick hit 16 of 33 passes for 132 yards. Zion Gillard rushed 10 times for 30 yards while Caleb Easterling had seven carries for 27 yards.
Ravon Grant caught five passes for 50 yards and Mason Wilcox added four catches for 39 yards for RHHS.
Lee Johnson was the team’s top tackler with nine. Dontae Goodner added seven tackles and one tackle for loss.
Kirk Scott returned two kicks for 42 yards.
