The undefeated Richmond Hill Middle School football team was crowned regional champions Wednesday after defeating Burke County Middle School 30–7.
The Wildcats finished the regular season at 7-0 and 9-0 overall.
In the semi-finals they won 24-0 against Effingham.
In the regional championship game, running back Tyrone Moore had a 30-yard touchdown run, while fellow running back Caleb Easterling had a 20-yard touchdown run.
Quarterback Nick Bliss had 2 and 55-yard touchdown runs.
Defensive standouts were: Dimitri Shepard (DL), DJ Menzie (DL), Tyrone Moore (ILB), and Mathias Clark (CB).
There were three fumble recoveries on special teams: Jaxson Wagner (TE), Phoenix Emberton (OLB), Dylan Boykin (CB)
During the 9-0 run, the Wildcats outscored opponents 203–39, with five shutouts, and only trailed for one quarter all season.
The Wildcats head coach is Jamie Bennett and the assistant coaches are Josh Eads, Wes Valentine, Ben Jernigan, Ryan Books and Philip Lyons.
