Three local teams in state high school basketball tourney

The Georgia High School Association state basketball tournament gets under way this weekend, and three teams from Bryan County made the field.

No. 2 seeded Bryan County (25-2) will play host to Washington County in a girls’ state Class AA playoff basketball game at 6 p.m. Friday in Pembroke.

Richmond Hill’s boys are also a No. 2 seed. The Wildcats (16-11) will play host to Heritage in the boys’ Class AAAAAA tourney. Tipoff is at 6 p.m. Saturday, per MaxPreps.

The Lady Wildcats (18-10) will play at Region 3-AAAAAA champ Heritage in Conyers. That game will be played either Friday or Saturday.
