The Lady Redskins traveled to Savannah Country Day School last Wednesday. Unfortunately, their season ended in a loss to the Lady Hornets 45-8. Missed shots proved to be the undoing of the Lady Skins.

This loss ended the 2006-2007 season.

In the first quarter of play, the Lady Hornets were only able to put 9 points on the board. Their main accomplishment however was holding the Lady Redskins scoreless. Several shots went up but none fell in the basket. It was as if the Lady Hornets had sealed the goal.

The second quarter saw a basket by Amber Smith and a basket by Liz Cross. Not much else was happening on the Lady Skin side of the court. Savannah Country Day, however, was able to put 20 more points on the board. Coach Butler led his team to the locker room with a 25 point deficit.

After the half, the 4 points in the second quarter would prove to be the high point of the game. In the third quarter, Amber Smith sank another basket and Liz Cross would make 1 of 2 free-throws to put only 3 on the Lady Skin side of the scoreboard. SCDS was able to add 8.

The fourth quarter saw Coach Butler empty his bench and allow the junior varsity players to get in some needed court time to prepare for next season. Scoring in the fourth happened only once for the Lady ‘Skins with one free throw by Jennifer Waters. The Lady Hornets added only eight during the fourth.

While Coach Butler emptied his bench, Country Day left their starters in the game to play the Lady ‘Skins' junior varsity.
