Lady Redskins get first win; Lady Wildcats roll on

Lady Redskins get first win
Bryan County High School picked up its first win of the season Tuesday beating Long County 3-1 in a Region 2-AA softball game. The Lady Redskins were led by Brooke Barfield, who scattered two hits over seven innings to earn the victory. Barfield also drove in two of BCHS' three runs, according to statistics on gamechanger.com. Layton Harrell also singled in a run for BCHS. Logan Harrell, Kaylin Leggett, Alana Walker and Brooklynn Williams also had hits for the Lady Redskins, who improved to 1-2.

Lady Wildcats roll on
Richmond Hill High School continued its mastery of Region 3-AAAAA opponents this week to improve to 4-1. The Lady Wildcats blistered Jenkins 24-0 in three innings on Tuesday, then romped to an 11-0 win over Windsor Forest on Thursday.

Volleyball team sweeps
Richmond Hill High School's volleyball team swept Region 3-AAAAA opponents Groves and Jenkins in matches Tuesday at Groves.
The Lady Wildcats downed Groves 25-13, 25-16. Sophia Hofeling had five aces, two kills and two digs; Chandler Holmes had one ace, two kills and two digs; Sarah Strazza recorded one ace and four digs; Kristen Sparks had five aces, three kills and one dig; Madi Nygaard recorded four kills and one dig and Jena Jacobs had four kills. In the nightcap, RHHS beat Jenkins 25-6, 25-7. Hofeling had 10 aces, one kill, one block and a dig in that contest. Strazza finished with seven aces; Sparks had six aces, one kill and five digs; Nygaard recorded three kills and one dig and Jacobs had four kills.
The wins improved RHHS to 4-0 in 3-AAAAA and 8-2 overall.
