Richmond Hill alum Brian Eichhorn was named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week after throwing a one-hit shutout against Troy.

It is the first one-hitter for the Eagles since 2001 and the first such conference honor for the junior.

Eichhorn walked one and struck out nine in tossing his second consecutive complete game. He is 4-3 on the season with a 3.15 ERA, with 106 strikeouts in 88 innings. Opponents are batting just .211 against him.

Georgia Southern is 28-23 overall and 17-10 in the Sun Belt Conference. The Eagles are scheduled to face Georgia State at 6:30 p.m. Friday night and 3 p.m. Saturday to close out the regular season. The conference tournament starts Tuesday.
