Father-son fishing duo make their mark at Hobie Worlds

Local angler Ron Champion (Richmond Hill) made the podium at Hobie Worlds, placing 3rd overall. He was also Team USA’s top finisher. 


Ron Champion’s son, Branton Champion, was also invited to form part of Team USA’s delegation. This made him the youngest angler to qualify for the event. Branton recently signed with Emmanuel University to continue his fishing career in college.

According to the official website, Hobie Fishing Worlds is a 'three-day world championship that brings together the planet's finest kayak anglers'.
