Bryan County High School isn't leaving the Class A softball tourney without a fight.
After losing their opener on Thursday, the Lady Redskins (30-9) won their second straight elimination game this afternoon to stay alive in the state Class A finals in Columbus. Bryan County beat Strong Rock Christian 9-5.
Tiffany Howard picked up the win, striking out six while scattering four hits and walking two over seven innings. Howard was 2 for 3 with three runs and a walk and Sierra Cornell was 3 for 4 and scored three runs.
The Lady Redskins are the only public school left in the Class A elite eight, assistant coach Karen Lynn said. The lady Redskins play Prince Avenue Christian at 5 p.m.
