The Bible tells us that we don’t have to live in fear, and the reason why is that the Lord has promised to be with those who trust in Him.
Let me give you a couple of examples. Psalm 118:6 says, “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” The writer of the book of Hebrews must have known of the writings in Psalms for he says it this way in chapter 13, verses 5-6: “....
God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you’. So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’” What are the things in life that cause people not to live a fear free life?
In the last couple of years, it has been this Corona Virus or it’s variants. It’s been the fear of another recession. It is the fear that we might be diagnosed with some kind of cancer. Right now, it might be the possibility of some kind of conflict with Russia over Ukraine or some natural disaster.
The truth of the matter is, even if the worse happens to where our lives end prematurely, we still win. If we have to go through things in this life such as illnesses or persecution, we are promised that the Lord will be with us working out His plans for our good and His glory.
