A life with no direction
pastor corner

A rooster starts crowing primarily just before sunrise but can crow throughout the day and even into the night. It is a misconception that they only crow in the early morning. I know in our neighborhood there are at least two and they will crow, it seems, whenever they feel like it. There seems to be no rhyme or reason, but just so inconsistent.

I believe that there are so many people who live their lives this way; they have no real consistency or direction. They eat, sleep, work, and just do life. There is no real purpose or calling and no known sense for why they are in this world. They don’t know what to believe or how to act.

The truth is that there is a path that God has for each one of us. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of this when it states, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Within these plans is directions given us in what we know as the Word of God, the Bible. David testifies about this in his own life when he says in Psalm 119:105; “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path”.

Some key questions today are, do you know what God’s plan is for your life and if so, are you following that plan?

If you don’t, then there is good news for you. Jesus Himself assures us in Matthew 7:7 that if we ask then we will receive, if we seek, then we will find, and if we knock then the door will be opened to us.
