Letter to the editor: People should be free to love whom they love
LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Editor:

I read with interest, the letter replying to my opinion on our local library taking down a Pride display. While the writer may consider LGBTQ+ behavior deviant, I do not. I believe that people should be free to love whom they love and that is called “free will”.

I see no reason nor need to denigrate or insult the writer either, but instead, respect her right to use her own voice. Where I draw the line is that your opinion does not make you the arbitrator of moral authority in our community or anywhere else. It’s your private opinion. When you enter a public space, you leave that at the door.

I realize this is difficult and sexuality is a frightening topic for a lot of people, but we’re not in middle school anymore. I hope as adults we can have adult conversations about topics that matter to us.
