Letter to the Editor: Mary’s Place needs support to help sexual assault victims
LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Editor,

As we approach the end of 2024, I look back on an exciting and challenging year. Mary’s Place used to be called The Rape Crisis Center, but last year we renamed our organization to honor our founding executive director, Mary McAlister. Under this new name, we have remained committed to helping the survivors of sexual assault in the Coastal Empire and to implementing vital prevention and educational programs across the seven counties we serve – Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Evans, Liberty, Long, and Tattnall.

Sadly, the need for the services provided by our nonprofit organization continues to grow. We serve communities across seven counties - and hope to expand and deepen our reach and services to build a safer community. Please will you consider making a tax-deductible donation toward our end of year appeal? We need vital funds for our survivors and to help us extend our prevention programs.

To donate, please visit www.marysplacega. org Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart.

Together we can make a difference to survivors of sexual assault.

Doris L. Williams, Executive Director, Mary’s Place Sexual Assault Center of the Coastal Empire, Inc.
