Letter to the editor: UITC celebrates MLK with poetry
Letter to the Editor generic

Editor:

Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday was not forgotten in Richmond Hill this year. Though the parade was postponed, Unity in the Community, along with Bubba’s Bistro, Soul Quest of Spitfire Poetry Group and some RHHS students came together to celebrate his birthday.

On the third Thursday night of each month since November, we have had open mic at Bubba’s Bistro, This January 20th was dedicated to the memory and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Students from the Multicultural Literature classes at Richmond Hill High School wrote poetry that was inspired by MLK or read a poem written by someone else. The community was invited to share this event. Look forward for more poetry at Bubba’s Bistro soon.
