Here we sit, once more waiting for a hurricane.
I heard it described as like being stalked by a turtle. We pray for the people in the Bahamas, and we wonder what will happen to us.
One thing is for sure. As you consider the possibility of evacuating you definitely come to terms with the things that are most important for you.
What will you put in your car and take with you? Certainly all family members will go. Also your pets.
And then there are important papers, perhaps some pictures, and a few things that have sentimental value.
But you will leave many things behind for one reason – they are replaceable.
TVs, boats, furniture and clothing are replaceable. None of us wants to lose these things. But again, they are replaceable.
I am praying that Dorian will move out to the ocean. I also pray that we will not face another big storm this year. But I am also praying that we will all look to the one who loves us and that we will depend on him.
And that should include times of storm and of calm.
Let us trust in God. He will take care of us.
