One of first year Bryan County baseball coach Kyle Farmer’s goals is to make his team one in which the North Bryan community can be proud of and one in which it takes ownership.
Farmer has stayed busy introducing his program and his players to not only the community, but also to the youth of the area with the idea of introducing them to the sport and to Redskins baseball as he recognizes that they are the lifeblood of the future.
Farmer, his staff and players will be conducting a Holiday Baseball Camp at the school’s Redskins Field on Saturday, Dec. 7. It will be the second such camp, the first being held the day after Labor Day. Drawing more than 40 players, Farmer considered it a success and a stepping stone to the future.
The Holiday camp is limited to grades 1-8 and will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $45 per player and those wishing to attend can register at GoFAN.co.
“This gives our youth players an opportunity to join us for a day filled with skill development, drills and fun,” said Farmer, who was hired as the Redskins coach last spring. “This camp is designed for players of all levels, focusing on improving fundamentals, teamwork and game strategies.
“Whether you’re looking to refine your skills or just starting out there’s something for everyone. There will be specialized drills for pitching, hitting and fielding. It will also give attendees and their parents a chance to meet our players and coaching staff.”
The Redskins open the season on Feb. 11, 2025, at South Effingham County and their home opener is Feb. 15 with a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. against Banks County.
