t’s not every day the leader of another country gives a Georgia county a shout out in Congress.

But South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol used Bryan County as an example of good South Korean- American relations during his address to a joint meeting of Congress on April 27.

President Yeol cited the Hyundai plant, which is under construction. The plant in Black Creek, which officials say is the single largest economic investment project in Georgia history, and other facilities in the area linked to it, will provide thousands of jobs.

President Yeol’s Remarks: “Take Bryan County, Georgia...

“Hyundai’s EV and battery plant is expected to be operational by late 2024.

“It will produce 300,000 electric vehicles every year.

“It will employ thousands of Americans.”
