Slates for Nov. 7 municipal elections set

Here’s the list of qualified candidates for the Nov. 7 municipal elections in Pembroke and Richmond Hill.

Pembroke: Mayor: Tiffany Zeigler and Sharroll Fanslau are running to succeed longtime Mayor Judy Cook.

District 1: Incumbent Johnnie Miller will run unopposed.

District 2: Incumbent Karen Lynn will face challenger Sharon D. Lewis, a former candidate for mayor.

District 3: Incumbent Diane Moore is unopposed.

District 4: Former county commissioner Ed Bacon will face C. Edward Winter.

At Large: Incumbent Ernest Hamilton will face challenger Jerry Gallishaw, Sr.

Richmond Hill: Post 3: Chris Raiford will face former councilman

Van Hunter. Raiford currently serves on the city’s planning and zoning board.

Post 4: Incumbent Steve Scholar will face challenger Rafael Redondo.

Also on the Nov. 7 ballot will be renewal of a Special Location Option Sales Tax. Residents have to be registered by Oct. 10 to vote in the Nov. 7 election. That can be accomplished at the Bryan County Elections Office in the Lanier Learning Center at 6024 U.S. 280, Pembroke in the front office.You can also go online at mvp. sos. ga.gov.
