The search continued Wednesday for a Richmond Hill woman who’s been missing since Nov. 21, according to the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office.

Karla Hillen, 58, was last seen around Fort McAllister Road on Nov. 21.

She was reported missing Nov. 23.

Since her disappearance, “Fort McAllister has been searched multiple times by foot, on water, with K9, and in the air. Bryan County Sheriff’s Office is currently coordinating what our next steps will be and meeting with additional resources,” according to the BCSO Facebook page.

Among the agencies helping in the search are the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the Georgia State Patrol, state rangers and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, according to Deputy Jennifer Fleming, the public information officer for BCSO.

She said Wednesday that Sheriff Mark Crowe has “been in talks with other outside resources and planning what the next move is going to be.” The disappearance of Hillen, a Richmond Hill social worker, has led to a lot of online speculation on social media, and volunteers have helped search for her.

Hillen’s vehicle was found at Fort McAllister on Nov. 24. BCSO investigators believe she left the park on foot on her own.

As the investigation continues, BCSO has offered updates on social media -including Tuesday’s post.

“We want to thank everyone for their continued assistance and concern for Ms. Hillen. We all want to reunite her safety with her family. If anyone has any recent information that would help assist in this investigation, please contact the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office.”

If any one receives or has any information that may lead to the whereabouts of Ms. Karla Hillen please contact the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office at 912-756-3101 day or night.

A Candlelight & Prayer Vigil for Karla Hillen will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at New Life Church in Richmond Hill. More information here.
