The Richmond Hill Bryan County Chamber of Commerce hosted the 24th Annual Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival (GOSF) from Oct. 20-22 and local businesses in Richmond Hill are reaping the benefits.

A long list of civic organizations, nonprofits and sports teams raised money for their respective groups, including Richmond Hill Tide Fastpitch Softball, Richmond Hill Tee Club, BSA Girl Scout Troop 242, RHHS Booster Club, New Life Church, Combat Boots 2 The Boardroom, and Venture Crew.

Richmond Hill’s Boy Scout Troop 400 helped run the waste management for the entire festival. With the funds raised from their peach cobbler stand, Troop 400 is able to fund their entire program for the year.

Ameris Bank offered their parking lot to the Richmond Hill Kiwanis Club who sold parking all weekend long, raising money for their scholarship funds.

SMA Angels Charity, Inc.--who also won an award for best decorations– served food at their Tio’s Tacos booth, raising funds for the fight against Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

And the YMCA of Coastal Georgia served up crawfish and were featured live on WSAV’s Morning Break with Kyle Jordan.

RHBC Chamber President & CEO Summer Beal reaffirmed the Seafood Festival’s commitment to supporting local businesses.

“This festival is a 100% volunteer run effort and the Richmond Hill Bryan County Chamber of Commerce is proud to donate $6 per hour served to the local nonprofit of the volunteer’s choice. The festival allows the RHBC Chamber to give over $20,000 back to our local community. It also brings visitors and travelers to our local businesses and restaurants. We look forward to another successful year serving our community and celebrating the 25th anniversary of the festival,” Beal said.
