The third annual Southeast Georgia Firefighters Challenge is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Higgston Baptist Church’s recreation complex in Higgston. The church is at the corner of Highways 292 and 29-15.
This year’s challenge will feature a chili cook-off, fire safety house, fire safety clowns, a rollover simulator, a Red Cross booth, Air EVAC information, child safety activities and representatives from region fire departments, police departments, sheriff’s offices and EMS/rescue units. Vendors will showcase the latest equipment used by emergency responders around the nation.
All area fire departments are invited to enter a team in the challenge. The chili cook-off is open to firefighters and anyone else who would like to enter.
