Oracal USA in Black Creek’s Interstate Centre was named Georgia Small Manufacturer of the Year in Atlanta April 16.
The announcement came at the Governor’s award luncheon for Georgia Manufacturing Appreciation Week.
The small manufacturer category is for companies with less than 150 employees, according to Bryan County Development Authority Chairman Sean Register.
"It’s good, good news," Register said. "Oracal’s entire crew was there to accept the award."
He said the award could attract more businesses to the area. Oracal representatives praised Interstate Centre, Black Creek, the BCDA and Bryan County Commission, according to Register.
"We must be doing something right," he said. "Even in these economic times we have steady interest in the park."
Oracal manufactures film and other products. It opened for business in Interstate Center in 2006 and is currently expanding the facility at an estimated cost of $20 million.
