New traffic signal goes live on US 280 Thursday
traffic work
The Georgia Department of Transportation will activate a temporary signalized intersection Thursday, August 17 at the Hyundai construction entrance on U.S. Route 280/State Route 30 near I-16 between Aspen Lane and Olive Branch Road in northern Bryan County.

While not expected to be in service for the Thursday morning commute, the signals should be fully functional by mid-day, weather permitting. Local law enforcement will handle traffic control during activation. Message boards are in place near the intersection to alert motorists of this new traffic signal location and activation date.

Motorists are always advised to proceed cautiously through intersections, but most certainly so tomorrow during activation and the days to follow as drivers become acclimated to the new signals.

Advisory: Exact time may change due to weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
