New non-profit established in Bryan County
Good Friends of Bryan County

An impactful women’s nonprofit organization is launching in Bryan County. ‘Good Friends’ is a group of women dedicated to making a huge impact in the community. The organization was originally developed in 1987 when four good friends put their heads together over lunch.

Catherine Browning, Alice Folger, Sally Saussy, and Patty Norman assembled a diverse group of women to serve as the convening committee of what would become known as Good Friends.

“Good Friends of Bryan County will hold a festive fundraising luncheon, which will become an annual tradition, where true stories are shared of how our collective donations can make a big impact for our Bryan County neighbors and friends who are facing a temporary financial crisis,” said Board Chair Deane Belk. “We hope you’ll join us for our 2024 luncheon, where an hour of fellowship equals a year of giving. Every penny raised will stay right here in Bryan County!”

The 2024 luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Richmond Hill City Center. Donations received during this luncheon will help local nonprofits to meet needs in areas where the exigency is greater than the current assistance provided. 100% of donations are given to Good Friends of Bryan County partners, so all the funds remain in Bryan County.

Community investors support the administrative and operating functions of Good Friends, so that 100% of luncheon donations can meet local needs. The 2024 sponsors include Richmond Hill Funeral Home, Waterways, Merit Homes, and AlphaGraphics.

Donations are accepted year-round and can be made online at goodfriendsofbryancounty.org or by mailing a check to 104 Telfair Drive, Richmond Hill, GA 31324. In addition, one can also support by volunteering to be a table hostess for the 2024 luncheon.
