Local Republicans, pastors host back-to-school prayer rally

The Bryan County Republican Party hosted a Back to School Prayer Rally Friday morning at J F Gregory Park. Local pastors, leaders and citizens gathered to pray over Bryan County’s students, teachers, bus drivers and support staff in the coming year.

Party Chairman Jordan Given noted “The Bryan County Republican Party is proud to support our students, teachers, and schools through faith and prayer. Bringing together so many different pastors is a testament to the bond this community shares and the greatness that we can all accomplish together.”

Participating pastors were:

• Scott Baker - First Baptist Church

• Rob Edwards - Corinth Baptist Church

• Daniel Boyd - Emmanuel Christian Church

• Patrick O’Tuel - Connections Church

• Lonzie Wester

• David Smith - Vineyard Fellowship

 • Pastor Lee - Korean Holiness Church

• Ryan Ogden - New Life Church 

The Bryan County Republican Party is currently raising funds to rent billboards in North and South Bryan for the coming election season. Their next event is their monthly members’ meeting at Bubba’s Bistro at 6:30 Thursday August 29. The community is welcome to learn more by attending or following their Facebook page. They plan to begin alternating meeting places between North and South Bryan.
