Utility work requires weekend traffic pacing on I-16
traffic

At the request of Georgia Power, Georgia Department of Transportation announced numerous traffic paces on Interstate 16 starting at I-95 and I-516 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1.

These traffic paces will be utilized for raising four overhead power lines, GDOT said.

Traffic will be paced in both directions at 20 mph, typically not exceeding 15 minutes.

Law enforcement will be piloting the traffic paces to maximize safety.

 All work is weather contingent.
