Richmond Hill United Methodist Church on Sunday hosted a consecration service and ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the new Dr. Glenn Martin Ministry Center.
The blended service brought together the traditional worship chancel choir and modern worship praise band.
The new 12,000-square-foot building will be home to the church’s modern worship service on Sundays at 11 a.m. and includes a fellowship hall, an expanded kitchen area, a larger pantry to meet the needs of RHUMC’s By His Hands soup kitchen ministry and the youth ministry offices.
A ribbon cutting followed. The church broke ground on the $3.65 million project in March 2017. At the time Martin, senior pastor, said the congregation had been talking about the need for the expansion for some 20 years, but became serious about the project three years ago.
