Highway 144 East on Fort Stewart is now reopened, post spokesman Keviin Larson said. 

The road was closed for three hours in both directions after a two-car crash around 3 p.m. 

Five people were injured in the crash and medically evacuated by air and ground ambulance, according to Fort Stewart PAO Lt. Col. Brian Fickel. 

The extent of their injuries was not released.
