Georgia State Superintendent Richard Woods visited Bryan County Middle High School to present distinguished banners to four Bryan County schools, celebrating what the district calls their "remarkable growth and achievement in literacy and math."
During his visit, Woods honored Bryan County Elementary School, Bryan County Middle High School, Richmond Hill Middle School, and Richmond Hill High School as part of the Georgia Department of Education’s initiative to spotlight schools that have demonstrated exceptional advancement in literacy and math proficiency. These accolades mark significant milestones in educational achievement within Bryan County.
The district referred to the following gains made in scores:
Literacy Leaders
Bryan County Elementary School -- 3rd Grade Gateway Growth: +11.6 points, 5th Grade Growth: +7.4 points.
Bryan County High School -- High School Growth: +13.4 points.
Math Leaders
Bryan County Middle School -- High School Achievement: 92.6% proficiency. High School Growth: +8 points.
Bryan County High School -- High School Growth: +29.4 points.
Richmond Hill Middle School -- 8th Grade Gateway Growth: +16.3 points. High School Achievement/Outstanding Achievement: 99% proficiency.
Richmond Hill High School -- High School Growth: +27.9 points.
