Coastal Heritage Society (CHS) announces CHS All In, a new initiative to increase access to the nonprofit organization’s six museums and educational programs.
Through CHS All In, the organization directly supports underserved communities. CHS All In provides free admission to its museums for visitors receiving EBT/SNAP/WIC benefits, delivers field trips to our community’s Title I schools, and sends its Mobile Museum directly into communities. Through focused funding, CHS plans to expand the CHS All In initiative to reach members of communities made vulnerable to poverty or facing other barriers.
“Coastal Heritage Society is a force for good in our community,” Nora Fleming Lee, CEO of Coastal Heritage Society, said.
“CHS All In is our way of ensuring all members in our community have access to the unique educational experiences offered through our museums by eliminating cost barriers. We hope to expand this initiative through donor support.”
Currently, CHS provides a free field trip for every first-grade student in Savannah- Chatham County Public School System Title I schools through the CHS All In initiative with hopes to expand this offering to additional grade levels through donor support. Additionally, CHS delivers therapeutic art activities to children receiving medical treatment at regional hospitals and their siblings, in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities, through CHS All In.
CHS is part of the Museums for All network, a national access program that encourages individuals of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build a lifelong habit of embracing all they have to offer. Museums for All is an initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, in partnership with the Association of Children’s Museums.
