Canady’s Heating · Air · Plumbing wrapped up a successful Canady’s Coats for Kids drive on Tuesday, January 7 by delivering truckloads of new coats to the United Way of the Coastal Empire. This is the fifth year that Canady’s Coats for Kids has partnered with the United Way of the Coastal Empire to collect donations of new, unused coats for children in need aging from infant to 17 years old in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, and Long counties.

“We are proud to partner with Canady’s again this year for the Fifth Annual Canady’s Coats for Kids,” said Kimberly Waller, president and CEO of the United Way of the Coastal Empire.” We are here today because of the caring power of this community. All of these coats you see here today are a shining example of that caring power. We are deeply grateful for all of those in our community who have generously donated new, unused coats in the past and hope you will join us again this year to help keep our kids (infant to 17 years old) warm this winter. These coats are much needed – especially on days like today - and we will be working with our partner agencies to distribute the coats to children who are truly in need throughout the Coastal Empire.”

If you know a child in need of a warm coat, please contact the United Way of the Coastal Empire’s 211 Information and Referral Service by calling 2-1-1.

“When we first started the Canady’s Coats for Kids campaign five years ago, I said that no child should ever go without a coat, and it was so special that people went out and bought new coats to help children in need,” said Fred Canady, founder of Canady’s Heating · Air · Plumbing. “Since we began this effort, we have been able to help thousands of children in our area thanks to the generosity of people in our community.”

The Canady’s Coats for Kids campaign began on December 2, 2024 and finished on January 2, 2025.
