The Ford Plantation recently hired Sheryl Jordan as the new equestrian center manager.
Jordan will oversee management and operational duties of the newly redesigned equestrian program at The Ford Plantation, including an expanded riding lesson program and the addition of special events throughout the year.
“I’m delighted to work with adults and children here at The Ford Plantation and to establish high standards of safety, integrity, consistency and high-quality customer service,” Jordan said. “There is a unique bond that can only be experienced through the relationship between a rider and a horse. I’m thrilled to share my passion for horses with club members at Ford.”
In addition to being a well-respected equestrian expert with more than 40 years of hands-on experience in the industry, Jordan has contributed to the books “Angel Horses: Divine Messengers of Hope and Rainbows & Bridges” and been a featured guest on “Your Life” with Dr. Anna Marie.
A Virginia native, Jordan began her equestrian career more than 40 years ago, riding the Virginia countryside bareback upon her first pony. An accomplished equestrian, Jordan is dedicated to encouraging the symbiotic relationship between horses and humans.
“It’s an honor to welcome Sheryl to our growing equestrian community at The Ford Plantation,” said Bob Gusella, general manager at The Ford Plantation. “We’re confident that her impressive equestrian background and focus on member service will help elevate our program to a whole new level of success.”
Jordan is a certified instructor with the American Riding Instructors’ Association as a Level III in Stable Management, Recreational Riding and Western, and a Level II in Dressage and Hunt Seat. She has also been certified with the Certified Horsemanship Association as a Level II Instructor in English, Western and Overnight Pack Trip Guide.
