The Bryan County High School STAR student for 2023 has been announced by sponsor Tiffany Warnell State Farm agency. Rusty Kevin Butler was selected as the STAR student. He selected Anna Waddell as his STAR teacher. 

Butler, the son of Randy Butler and Amanda Butler, plans to attend Georgia Southern University for two years then transfer to Georgia Tech to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering.

He was awarded a $500 scholarship from his sponsor.

The STAR program is organized statewide by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, who recognize the student in each high school who scored the highest on one sitting of the SAT.
