Bryan teachers shouldn’t see furlough days this year under a $49.5 million budget expected to be adopted by the Bryan County Board of Education next week.
The measure will follow Wednesday’s 3-1 vote to keep the schools’ millage rate at 15.537, despite a shrinking tax digest that means about $270,000 less in revenue.
“If everything stays in order and we don’t get further austerity reductions in terms of state money, I think we’ll be OK,” said Bryan Schools Superintendent John Oliver.
