June 19

• Matter of record: Deputies were dispatched for a report of someone at a house and peeking in the windows. The complainant states while she was not at home, her neighbor saw someone come to her home and walk around the front of her home and possibly look through her windows. The neighbor did capture a picture of the person’s vehicle but it was not clear. The deputy notified the HOA and was able to obtain a clearer picture of the vehicle.

After running the license plate in GCIC, the deputy was able to find the address of the suspect in question. The man explained to the deputy that he runs a local magazine called Richmond Hill Neighbors and the complainant’s daughter won a coloring contest. The man stated that he was dropping off the gift card prize to her home. The complainant was relieved that this was the case.

• DUI (less safe), speeding, reckless driving: Deputy gives citations to a driver for the stated offenses.

• Damage to property: At the I-95, Bryan/Liberty line, a deputy was dispatched in response to a complainant who said that as he was traveling, he suddenly hit an object in the roadway. The vehicle sustained minor damage to the front bumper area and driver side, front fender area. The object in question was a cylinder metal object approximately 20 lbs. The object was removed from the roadway and the complainant removed his vehicle from the scene.

• Low speed vehicle on the highway:

A four-wheeler was spotted traveling on the side of Hwy 204 heading eastbound. The four wheeler drove past the deputy, then crossed the highway, then passed the deputy again heading west bound.

The juvenile driver was stopped on Black Creek Church Rd. The four wheeler vehicle was towed and the juvenile’s parent was notified.

• ID Theft/Fraud: Complainant reports packages ordered in her name that she did not authorize from Staples and Amazon.

June 20

• DUI (alcohol): Deputy notices vehicle stopped on the Interstate 95 northbound off ramp toward the roundabout intersection. The vehicle was pulled over onto the shoulder of the road; the left front tire was destroyed. Driver said she didn’t know what happened.

After testing, the driver was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was issued a citation and transported to the Bryan County Jail; the vehicle was towed.

• Matter of record: Complainant reports that he passed by a man who was brandishing a pistol and shot twice in the air. The suspect in question said that he didn’t have any weapons, and allowed deputies to check his bags. Deputies didn’t find a weapon in his belongings.

June 21

• Phone Scam: Complainant reports a phone scam from someone claiming to be Lt. Jimmy Black of the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office.

• DUI-less safe (drugs): Impaired driver placed under arrest.

June 23

• Fleeing/attempting to elude police, DUI-less safe (alcohol), marijuana possession (less than 1oz.), speeding, failure to maintain lane, following too closely, failure to signal when turning, reckless driving, failure to dim headlights, open container of alcohol in motor vehicle: Driver charged with the above offenses.

• Matter of record: Deputies provide assistance to a woman who was accidentally struck by a golf ball.

• Maintaining a disorderly home, underage possession of alcohol: Deputies respond to a Richmond Hill home in reference to juvenile issues/underage drinking, one throwing up in the yard.

• Warrant executed: Deputy notes vehicle traveling East on Hwy 204 without any tag lights. After conducting a traffic stop, the deputy runs the driver’s name through GCIC/NCIC and notices that the driver is wanted out of Pembroke for Family Violence. The deputy arrests the driver and gives him a citation for no tag lights as well.
