December 1

Criminal Damage to Property: 2nd Degree

Man reports that on his way to work in the morning, a white Dodge Charger (tag unknown) had cut him off while exiting I-16 Westbound. The man then honked at the truck, but the truck’s passengers (3 men) then threatened him. Once the man arrived at work (MegaSite), the three men from the truck confronted him “aggressively”. The man then pulled out a pipe wrench that he had in his vehicle and told the three men to leave him alone. Later that same day, he found “extensive” damage to his vehicle’s hood, two front headlights busted, a hole through the windshield, and a broken passenger side mirror. Deputy estimated the total damage to the vehicle at over $500. MegaSite security team say that there are no cameras that could have recorded the incident.

Driving while license suspended or revoked Traffic stop conducted on Hwy 280 westbound @ Black Creek Church Rd. Woman arrested for driving without a license and given a warning for speeding (70 MPH in a 55 MPH zone).

December 2 DUI: Less Safe (alcohol), failure to maintain lane Man charged with the above offenses.

DUI: refusal, failure to maintain lane, open container of alcohol in motor vehicle

Woman charged with the above offenses.

Terroristic threats and acts-felony, domestic dispute

Verbal argument between son and mother. Warrant placed on son for the above charge(s).

Warrant served

Man found with warrant out of Bulloch County for theft by deception. December 3 Warrant executed

Man detained, found to have a warrant out of Bryan County for a felony probation violation. Transferred to Bryan County jail without incident.

Warrant executed

Deputy encounters man found wanted out of Effingham County for probation violation. Arrested without incident and sent to Effingham County Deputies.

Unruly juvenile(s)

4 juveniles were spotted walking across the Black Creek Bridge.

Matter of record

At the I-16 Eastbound off ramp (exit 143), a driver alerts deputies that his car came to a sudden stop as he was exiting the ramp. Car towed.

Theft by shoplifting

Woman reports that a man at Parker’s (Hwy 80) paid for gas at a pump, then walked in the gas station and took a 12pack of Bud Light without paying.

Animal Complaint, Cruelty to Animals

Deputies dispatched in reference to dog fighting. Man reports that another man dropped off a Red Nose Pitbull at his residence and asked for him to “fatten him up”. Man is afraid that the dog will be used by the other man as a bait dog or otherwise breed her. The dog (Bella) was “extremely emaciated”, and covered in old wounds. Bryan County Animal Shelter was contacted.

December 4 Verbal Dispute

Two individuals were arguing in a driveway.

Intimidation/Impeding grand juror/ trial

At the Bryan County Administrative Building, an atttorney reports intimidation of her client by the two plaintiffs during and after court.

No driver’s license/unlicensed operator, expired registration, windshield/window/ wiper requirement Driver on Hwy 17 South cited for the above offenses.

DUI-alcohol/controlled substance, open container of alcohol in motor vehicle, driving while license suspended or revoked, failure to maintain lane Driver on Hwy 204 near Wolf Pen Island cited for the above offenses.

December 5 Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, speeding in excess of maximum limits, obstruction of law enforcement officers Driver on US-80 cited for the above offenses.

Pedestrian in the roadway, public drunkenness At 01:12 hours, the Bryan County 911 Center notified RHPD of a suspicious person on the roadway. Man on the roadway (US-17 southbound) explains that he was trying to contact the police, saying that some unknown person is trying to hurt him and that he wanted to get to someplace safe. Man ddmitted to consuming narcotics (marijuana and meth) prior to calling for police attention. Man refused EMS attention, then was issued citations for the above offenses, then released for further hospital treatment.

No driver’s license/unlicensed operator

Man driving on Hwy 17 North arrested for not having a license or any registration.
