From the Bryan County Sheriff ’s Office Reports

July 9

Criminal Damage to Property (2nd Degree), Interference with Government Property, Entering Automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit a theft or felony.

Man reports that someone had taken one of the Bryan County Work Trucks for a “joy ride”. The truck involved is a white 2022 Ford F-150 work truck. The truck was still running and the unknown offender had gotten it stuck in a pine tree. After failing to free the truck, the unknown offender left the scene.

Man advised the deputy that all the county trucks were left unlocked with the keys hidden inside. Man further explained that the truck in question had its keys left on the center console.

The man then pointed at a green tractor and stated that the truck had been parked next to said tractor for about a week. The truck’s tire tracks lead to a huge “donut circle” or circular rut in the mud.

After the truck had completed its “donuts” in the mud, it appeared to have left the unfinished parking lot on Bryan Fishermans Co-op Road and proceeded towards GA-144, where the dirt lot meets Bryan Fishermans Coop Rd. Deputy observed a yellow plastic button lying in the dirt. It appeared that the driver/unknown offender ripped off the air brake button for the truck and threw it out the window into the dirt. At some point, the truck bottomed out the front end, causing the passenger side headlight assembly to disconnect and remain dangling.

Upon the unknown offender’s return to the dirt lot, they put the truck in reverse, and, at a high rate of speed, slammed into the tree line.

Warrant executed

Deputy executed a motor vehicle stop on GA 26 at GA 30 for suspended registration. During the stop, investigation showed that the passenger was wanted by Garden City Police for Felony Terroristic Threats and Acts. The passenger was arrested and transported to Garden City Police Department without incident.

Damage to property

Deputy dispatched to Bryan County Sheriff ’s office for a damage to property walk in. A Department of Transportation employee reports damage to their Wanco message board on the left wheel that morning at approximately 0930 hours at the Hyundai plant. The employee believes that contractors that work at the Hyundai plant tried to move the message board with another piece of equipment but damaged it during the process.

No insurance, knowingly driving motor vehicle on public road without insurance, tag lights.

Vehicle traveling eastbound on GA 30 did not have a proper working tag light as required by Georgia State Law.

Theft by taking - motor vehicle

Woman in Ellabell reports a possible stolen vehicle. The vehicle in question is a 2021 silver Toyota Corolla. The woman left the vehicle at a particular address due to it having a broken windshield. She was waiting on a windshield for the vehicle and it never came. Woman then states that she was informed that the vehicle was removed from the property by BCSO and a report was made, although no reports were ultimately found in the system.
