United Way of the Coastal Empire received an $8,600 donation from Ameris Bank recently as part of the financial institution’s Fall Giving Campaign. The donation benefits the United Way Community Fund, which provides essential support to our four-county region.

“Ameris Bank has been a longtime supporter of United Way and the work we do in our community,” said Brianne Yontz, UWCE Bryan County Area Director. “Ameris Bank’s generous support will help United Way of the Coastal Empire continue improving lives throughout Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty counties.”

“Sarah Lippert, Vice President and Branch Manager of Ameris Bank, Richmond Hill, and Immediate Past Chair of the UWCE Bryan County Advisory Board, has been the anchor of the bank’s campaign for many years and is involved with a plethora of community activities in Bryan County and throughout the region. We are grateful to have someone with such passion be part of not only United Way, but many other non-profits that serve our four-county region,” said Yontz.

In addition to Ameris Bank’s workplace giving campaign, employees raised funds through a bake sale and proceeds from using the Richmond Hill branch’s parking lot during the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival in October. Ameris Bank staff volunteered their time to assist with parking efforts during the festival and the bank donated 100% of the parking proceeds to the United Way Annual Campaign.

Through the United Way Community Fund, United Way of the Coastal Empire funds 88 programs and services at 57 nonprofits, helps people in need through the 211 Information & Referral Center, county service centers, and volunteer efforts, as well as brings the community together to provide a social series safety net to encourage upward mobility for all.
