The following local students were named in press releases sent to the Bryan County News by colleges and universities. 

Upper Iowa University is pleased to announce Elvis Kandawasvika of Richmond Hill graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in December 2022.

Kylee Saxon, of Ellabell, was named to the University of Mississippi’s Fall 2022 Honor Roll lists.

Saxon was named to the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.754.00.

Dustin Hughes of Richmond Hill and Matthew Horton and Michael Oustayan of Fort Stewart were named to the Maryland Global Campus Dean’s List for the fall semester. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

More than 2,700 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2022 semester, including Tyler Williamson, from Richmond Hill. Students who make the Dean’s List have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (3.25 for freshmen) for the semester.

More than 1,600 students were named to Valdosta State University’s Spring 2022 Dean’s List.

To qualify for Dean’s List at VSU, students must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher.

Local students making the Dean’s List are Amaia Johnson, John Tucker, Hunter Workman, Kaleigh Filer, Gabrielle Howell, Nathan Vickers, Morgan Robertson and Skylar Korn, all of Richmond Hill. More than 3,000 students graduated from Georgia State University during the fall 2022 semester at the associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral levels.

Local graduates include: Austin Bacon of Richmond Hill, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology Tauseen Mahmood of Richmond Hill, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications, with a minor in History Keegan Murphy of Richmond Hill earned a Bachelor of Science In Nursing degree Joshua Pecenka of Richmond Hill earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance Zoe Robertson of Richmond Hill earned a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Biomedical Sciences & Enterprise
