Nearly two dozen Bryan County residents took a trip down memory lane Thursday evening when the Black Creek School Museum Committee hosted its annual meeting and open house at the school board’s central office.
The meeting started with introductions from committee members while a slideshow of old photographs from the Black Creek School and pictures of the remodeling process played on the television projectors.
Visitors shared memories of attending school there as early as the 1930s, teaching various grades at the school and more.
Emily Edwards, who taught at the Black Creek School from August 1971 to June 1974, said she thinks the committee has done a good job working to build up the collection of artifacts and photos in the museum.
“I think the museum committee should be commended,” she said. “I think a lot of people would be very disappointed if the museum wasn’t included. Just look at the history that would have been lost.”
