However, A.J. Jacobs did it, chronicling the endeavor in his 2007 book, "The Year of Living Biblically." And soon, a new TV comedy will explore the premise of Jacobs' book, according to Relevant.
Not much is known about the impending sitcom, with no release date set, but Susan Brett wrote for TV Daily that "The Big Bang Theory" star Johnny Galecki's Alcide Bava Productions sold the idea to CBS.
According to TV Daily, this isn't the first time Jacobs' account almost made it to screens: Paramount Pictures picked up rights in 2008 for a movie but it fell through.
With the plot revived, some wonder exactly how the show will incite laughter for a few reasons.
" ... Commenters on Reddit were sceptical about the hilarity of such a series, citing notable incidences in the Bible that were anything but funny," TV Daily's report read. "Referring to the infamous passage that condones stoning a rebellious son, Reddit user SystemFolder commented that: 'The episode about Deuteronomy 21:18-21 should be a hoot.'"

Jacobs said in a 2007 Ted Talk that spending a year according to the Bible made him go "from being agnostic to having more respect for the faithful," Scribner noted. The Bible's compassionate parts, in particular, changed Jacobs' thoughts and feelings.
