The Richmond Hill Lions Club met Dec. 10 at the Richmond Hill City Center in J.F. Gregory Park for its annual Christmas dinner party and auction.
New members inducted into membership by President Rick Gardner were: Brenda Bush, sponsored by Mike Bush; Kathie Harrington, sponsored by Dale Mitchum; and Angel Nowell, sponsored by Rick Gardner.
The sponsors of Bush and Harrington pinned on their official Lions Club pin.  Charlie Nowell, Angel Nowell’s son, did the honors of pinning the official Lions Club pin on his mother.
The evening featured entertainment and many items for auction that was planned by the Christmas Party/Auction Committee.  Serving on the committee was Rose and Ronny Gerrald, Bob and Chris Berry, Jane Walden and Fred Warnell.
Walden and Mike Bush sang a beautiful rendition of “Mary, Did You Know,” accompanied by David Butler on the keyboard.  The members and guests joined in with singing “Jingle Bells,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
After a dinner of turkey and ham with all the trimmings, prepared and served by the City Center chef and staff, everyone was treated to a “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” skit that was directed and narrated by Jane Walden.
The cast of characters were: Dasher, Tommy Brookshire; Dancer, Sue Turner; Prancer, John Fesperman; Vixen, Kacy Barker; Comet, Jeff Derrick; Cupid, Ronny Gerrald; Donder, Harold Fowler; Blitzen, Bobby Hall; Rudolph, Bob Berry; Christmas tree, Carla Gardner; Santa, Lisa Yackel; and music by David Butler.
Fred Warnell shared his talent, serving as auctioneer.  Many items went to the highest bidder.
