Brace yourself. New religious emojis are coming.

Its no secret that the new iOS software (version 9.1) will include new emojis, like a unicorn, a hot dog and the much-anticipated taco, according to Forbes.

But, more importantly for believers, there will be more religious-based emojis coming to an iPhone screen nearest you.

The new release includes a synagogue, a mosque and even the Kaaba, the black cubical structure in Mecca that serves as Islams most famous and significant house of God, The International Business Times reported. There will also a be a Jewish menorah with nine branches, prayer beads and a generic symbol of a person on his knees, signifying a place of worship.

Dont believe us? See the new emojis for yourself in the photo below. The photo comes from developers, who were given a sneak peek at the new emojis and passed the photo along to The Next Web.

Though some may say this is the first time emojis will represent the religious, emojis have always had a faithful connection. The high-five emoji is actually prayer hands, at least according to social media users.

And, as I wrote last month, the emojis list has always included a church, smiley face with a halo and the Jewish star of David.

Emojis may be a new facet of our language, but theyve already had an impact. Emojis often enhance our language and add emotional context to our sentences that words cant create, according to New Republic.

It's a recurrence of a very old impulse, linguist Ben Zimmer told New Republic. I don't see it as a threat to written language, but as an enrichment. The punctuation that we use to express emotion is rather limited. Weve got the question mark and the exclamation point, which dont get you very far if you want to express things like sarcasm or irony in written form.
