Looking to control discipline among students waiting for buses and traffic on streets around schools, the Bryan County Education has decided to stagger starting times for classes next school year.
At a meeting Thursday, the board decided:
* Grades 6-12 will begin at 7:40 a.m. and end at 2:45 p.m.
* Pre-k through grade five schools will begin at 8:25 a.m., and end at 3:30 p.m.
The suggestion was first made by board member Charlie Johnson and the board hosted a forum on the topic May 18.
The decision was unanimous.
